Coccidiosis

Coccidiosis is a major cause of economic loss to the poultry industry. The prophylactic use of coccidiostats is under pressure, which increases the demand for effective vaccines. The use of live vaccines containing a mixture of different Eimeria species has been shown to effectively induce immunity in chickens. We aim at improving the production, formulation and administration of live coccidiosis vaccines. Moreover, research focusses on the strategic use of such vaccines in poultry practices to achieve sustained coccidiosis control.
